Preventive Maintenance and Testing

The purpose of the permits and inspections process is to ensure that new electrical work has been properly installed in compliance with the National Electric Code, also known as NFPA 70. What about after the final inspection? How does one ensure that an electrical system continues to perform safely and reliably as designed? Or that the individuals that work on these electrical systems do so in adherence to national safety standards? The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) also publishes NFPA 70B, Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance, and NFPA 70E, Electrical Safety in the Workplace to provide national standards to address both these issues. While all electrical contractors need a functioning knowledge of NFPA 70, most electrical contractors have limited knowledge at best of 70B and 70E. At BOPAT Electric, we work with our customers in developing customized maintenance and safety programs custom tailored to meet their individual needs.
